Sky Bar

Has anyone else eaten Sky Bars? They're chocolate bars made by Necco, which closed last year (I only became aware of this when I googled them to post this). They were never the greatest candy, but I loved them when I was a kid.

Sky Bars had four filled compartments, one chocolate fudge, one vanilla fudge, one caramel, one peanut caramel. The mere fact that they had four separate flavors in one made them fancy. The fact that I could save my allowance fairly easily to buy them made them even better. I'd carefully split off each piece and nibble them starting at the skinny end, to make it last as long as possible.

With Necco no longer around, Sky Bars are probably forever gone as well. Too bad. I enjoyed eating them occasionally, even when I got access to better chocolate, for the nostalgia value.

Sky Bars were/are the best!!!! ;v; I haven't seen them around in a while, and I guess I know why. Some googling says Necco was sold off at a bankruptcy auction, and also sold off some of their properties (Sky Bar among them), so odds are the candies might be reproduced under a new name and/or company. My favorite Sky Bars were the ones that came out after Twilight: New Moon hit theaters; coincidentally, that was my first introduction to them.

I don't know why the filled-compartment chocolate bar never caught on; I'm indecisive and love having multiple flavors available.

I hope they get reproduced! I grew up in Vermont, so the local store had them at the counter. I didn't know they had Twilight tie-ins, that's interesting. I'm not sure why it never caught on, either, it seems like a thing people would like.
